Well here I am in the home stretch of my bet with Stephen. I have exactly 12 more days left to reach my sub-goal. And from the looks of things it ain’t gonna happen. So how do I feel about this? Let’s just say that I don’t lose well. But even though I’m not going to make it, I’m not going down without a fight.
You see, the main goal of this whole thing was to get me to be more conscious and create better habits.
So have I met my goal? Nope.
Am I going to? Probably not.
Did I create better habits? You bet I did!
In fact, I have gotten to the point where when I don’t exercise, I actually miss it! I haven’t done anything for a week because I was feeling much too weak due to a bronchial infection (Thank God for antibiotics!).
Anyway, excuses aside, in the past I woulda gotten all, “Screw it, I’m gonna lose anyway, so I’m just going to stop.”
Happening? Nope.
I’m going to fight ‘til the bitter end. So I’m going to do what I did back in 2000 in the hopes that I’ll at least get closer. J
What I did back then was the Fit for Life diet. This is not be confused with Body for Life. This was something that came out in the 1970s and I embraced this book 11 years ago eating like a pig but still pounds were melting off. Fast.
Basically what’s involved is never mixing certain foods – never ever mixing protein with carbohydrates. There’s reasons behind this which I’m not going to go into, just read the freakin’ book if you wanna know lol…there’s another aspect of only fruit before noon, which I’m not sure I’m going to follow through with. We’ll see what happens.
All I know is that I’m not stopping no matter where I’m at with the stinking bet. I’m enjoying running and adore the endorphins that make me all tingly and happy. J So I’m off to get that back again.
I’m not only 12 days away from losing my bet, but I’m 12 days away from setting my new goals (yay that’s always fun right?) – my goals for the second quarter. What’ll happen in the end is I’m healthier and more fit.
So that being said…who will be the real winner? Hmmmm?
